Organizers of the event designed it as a multi-medium art festival to serve as a forum for new thought and inspired intervention regarding critical political and social issues.

Performers were invited to participate not only for their talent, but also for their willingness to speak openly on political matters, and for their commitment to positive social change.

In addition to more than 25 performances on two stages, the festival will offer spoken word presentations, performance art, a drumming circle and a world market with a variety of food and merchandise vendors.

Organizers will also attempt to keep the festival as carbon neutral as possible by using biodegradable products, providing organic food and merchandise, discouraging the use of bottled water by providing alternative sources and offsetting carbon emissions with the planting of roughly 1000 trees in Monterey County.
