The band will play nine shows over a two week period at the Barrymore Theatre in New York City, beginning November 1, marking the first time a rock band has undertaken such an extended run on a Broadway stage.

During the two-hour show, Duran Duran will present the new disc in its entirety; hits from the band’s nearly 30 year history like “Rio,” “Save A Prayer,” “Hungry Like The Wolf” and “Ordinary World,” and a “special electro set,” complete with “magnificent production values and a completely new stage show.”

Presale tickets for the Barrymore shows, which are available to fan club members and Citi credit card holders, are priced at $150, $125 and $75. General ticket sales begin October 6 through Telecharge. Additional details and special Duran Duran fan community offers are available at www.duranduran.com and www.duranmusic.com.

Massacre, which is due November 13, is Duran Duran’s 12th studio release and the first since the re-departure of guitarist Andy Taylor following the band’s reunion in 2004.

The album was recorded over the past year with help from Justin Timberlake and producers Timbaland and Nate “Danja” Hills.

Singer Simon LeBon said the band felt premiering the disc on Broadway was the right thing to do.

“We have made an album that we are all really proud of and we wanted to present it in a very unique way,” said LeBon. “Staging a run on Broadway is something that we’ve often talked about over the years – but the time has never seemed right until now.

“We started work on Red Carpet Massacre in New York in September of last year, so it feels fitting to be launching it here, just down the road from the studio where we did those first sessions with Justin Timberlake and Timbaland.”
