The concert will honor this year’s Peace Prize winners – former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change – for their efforts to raise awareness about global warming and lay the groundwork to combat climate change. The concert will be broadcasted to more than 100 countries.

The Peace Prize Concert has been a tradition for the past 10 years and takes place the day after the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony. Past performers include Wynonna, Lionel Richie, Cyndi Lauper, Tim McGraw, The Cardigans and Shania Twain.

“The Nobel Committee is pleased to welcome such a talented and eclectic group of artists for this momentous occasion,” Secretary of the Norwegian Nobel Committee Geir Lundestad said. “Each year the concert is a wonderful celebration of peace and unity and we hope the world will tune in and join us.”
