Canceled: Sum 41, Underworld
The Strength In Numbers Tour, featuring co-headliners Sum 41 and Finger Eleven, has been axed because of a herniated disc that began troubling Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley last week, according Canadian media.
The singer will reportedly be unable to walk for five or six weeks and is resting at his home Los Angeles.
Ticket refunds are available at point of purchase.
The European leg of Underworld’s tour behind its latest release, Oblivion With Bells, has been canceled after band member Rick Smith reportedly fell ill.
“It is with great regret that we have had to pull out of the European leg of the current Underworld tour due to severe illness in the band.
“More details will follow, but in the meantime, we appreciate you patience and understanding.”
The other half of the duo, Karl Hyde, spoke to the BBC about Smith’s illness, explaining, “It has taken its toll on him but the Welsh are a resilient bunch and he is bouncing back now.”
The band’s upcoming dates in Korea and Japan were still on at press time.
