MTV’s Latin VMAs

Maná, Camila, Belinda, and Avril Lavigne were the big winners at the recent MTV Latin Video Music Awards in Mexico City, each scoring two of the ceremony’s famed tongue awards.

And in this case, big reportedly means 12 million votes cast, with a voter response totaling 240 percent more than last year’s awards through online and text messaging.

Maná picked up the awards for best group or duo and artist of the year.

Camila took home "Best New Artist North" and "Revelation Artist." Former Cheetah Girl Belinda, who topped the nominations for this year’s ceremony, got video of the year and was named best solo artist.

Lavigne took home song of the year for "Girlfriend," as well as best international pop artist.

Other winners included Julieta Venegas, Babasonicos, Panda, Fergie, La Mala and No Lo Soporto, among others.
