One of the most popular radio stations on the Net now has a wireless connection. AT&T announced today that music streamer Pandora.com is now available on select mobile phones.

Pandora has always been a music fan’s favorite. By seamlessly mixing artists, Pandora expertly matches music, tempo and flow. This is accomplished via the Music Genome Project, which began when a group of professional musicians started evaluating and classifying individual songs.

Because Pandora is already a big hit among music lovers, it was pretty much a no-brainer that a mobile phone provider would eventually cut a deal with the Internet radio station, and AT&T should be able to sell more than just a few phones by dangling this tasty service in front of its customers.

But don’t expect to find Pandora on the iPhone. Although AT&T is the exclusive carrier for Apple’s wonder-gadget, the iPhone is conspicuously absent from the list of phones running Pandora.

Right now Pandora runs on eight AT&T phones – Samsung SYNC, a717, a737, Motorola V3xx, RAZR 2, LG Trax and existing LG CU400 and CU405 models.

Pandora is available for a five-day free trial, after which it will cost $8.99 per month.

“Pandora is a great way to discover new music that you may have never found otherwise,” company founder Tim Westergren said. “Now, listeners can have personalized music throughout the day – with the stations that they create – whenever and wherever they want. With this launch, AT&T and Pandora are continuing the ongoing expansion of Internet radio across all forms of listening.”
