Freedom Hill Money Matters
The city of Sterling Heights, Mich., is getting closer to receiving millions of dollars in insurance money – a loose end from a lawsuit settlement with the owners of Freedom Hill Amphitheatre.
Sterling Heights lost a court decision to Hillside Productions in March 2004, and settled out of court for $31 million. The city turned around and sued three of its insurance carriers.
U.S. District Judge Nancy Edmunds ruled October 24th Sterling Heights was entitled to a partial summary judgment against United National Insurance Company, according to area newspaper The Source.
Sterling Heights had been accused of harassing the amphitheatre and the judge agreed, spurring the settlement.
