Jahnke Parties The Night Away
Senior German promoter Karsten Jahnke says his 70th birthday party will be hard to top, but he’ll definitely be giving it a go when his 75th comes up.
His night on the town in Hamburg turned into a 12-hour shift, beginning with a private reception for close friends at 6:00 p.m. on November 22 in Tornhallen restaurant and finishing in the bar at Kantine at 6:00 the following morning.
From Tornhallen, he and his guests moved on to the Schauspielhaus, where they were joined by more than 100 leading lights from the German and international music industry and entertained by a lineup that included Paul Weller, The Dubliners and some top German jazz acts.
That wasn’t the end of it. The next stop was for more partying at Marmorsaal, a function room above the Schauspielhaus, and then it was on to the Kantine bar in the basement below.
