Three Vying To Run Chevy Centre
The Chevrolet Centre in Youngstown, Ohio, is looking for a facility manager and so far three companies – including perennial rivals SMG and Global Spectrum – have submitted bids to the city.
The third bid is a joint proposal by Cavaliers Operating Co. of Cleveland and International Facilities Group of Chicago. Cavaliers Operating Co. owns and manages the Cleveland Cavaliers basketball team and its home court, the Quicken Loans Arena.
IFG has developed and constructed more than 35 centers and stadiums around the country.
The process is in its earliest stages, Mayor Jay Williams said, but city officials expect a decision to be made by March 30th, according to the Youngstown Vindicator.
The 7,500-capacity center lost $254,388 during its second fiscal year, which ended September 30th, and parted ways with Global Entertainment October 31st.
