Randy Parton Gets The Boot

The show at the Randy Parton theater in Roanoke Rapids will go on, without Randy Parton.

The brother of country music star Dolly Parton told a Raleigh television station last night he had been kicked out by the city of Roanoke Rapids, N.C. . Roanoke Rapids borrowed more than $21 million to build the theater on Interstate 95 to anchor an entertainment complex.

Theater manager Jim Craig confirmed today Parton’s appearances have been canceled.

Craig says what had been billed as "Randy Parton’s Carolina Christmas Show" is now "The Carolina Christmas Show."

Craig referred other questions to city officials.

Financial documents released by the city shows taxpayer money intended to help finance the theater was spent on alcohol and tickets to Las Vegas shows.
