Overnight Sensations …

Our overnight crew worked very hard on the following items so that you may have something to read after closing time:

Powers Up – The New Orleans staple hits the road (and the sea) hard.

Tour On – The band just keeps on going and going and going…

Here & There …

MySpace helps Anthrax hook up with their new lead singer – Reuters

Downloading music and movies to a cell phone can get somewhat expensive. Just ask Piotr Staniaszek – Toronto Star / The Canadian Press

Hopalong Spice? – The Evening Standard

Paul McCartney talks about why he left EMI – The Times

Dolly Parton does the ol’ Q&A – The Sun

Here’s a very interesting pictorial depicting people who inspired songs – Boston.com

Dates, Dates & More Dates

You won’t find many bands named after a secondary character on the old Beverly Hillbillies TV series, but Dash Rip Rock may be the most famous. New dates for the band include stops in Austin, St. Louis and New Orleans.

NOFX has a string of new engagements for February and March in places like Houston, Jacksonville, Saint Paul and Kansas City; Bedouin Soundclash will cover both coasts and points in between during January and February and Bob Saget takes his act on the road with shows in Anaheim in March, Chicago, Minneapolis and Ann Arbor in April and Atlantic City in June.

Today was an excellent day in the tour data collection business. Some of the highlights include Robert Plant / Alison Krauss, Neil Young, Chris Rock, Neil Diamond, Lenny Kravitz, Joe Satriani, Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, Galactic, The Go! Team, RBD, Ronan Tynan, Bruce Cockburn, James, Michael Bolton, Shayne Ward and Incubus.

Duing the day we also updated the schedules for Kid Harpoon, Big John Mills, Citizen Cope, Rosie Ledet, Bassnectar, Bonedrivers, Bud E. Luv, Charlie Musselwhite, Chris Cain, Clannad, Foo Fighters, James Cotton Band, , Martin Sexton, Matt Costa, Rev. Billy C. Wirtz, Skillet, Status Quo, Suicidal Tendencies, The Meteors, Virginia Coalition plus so many more artists and bands that the mind boggles at the amazing and wonderous complexity of the touring universe.

And that’s the way it was, Thursday, December 13, 2007. Goodnight.
