Zelisko’s Thoughts On Fogelberg
It is always such a shame when the good die young. It has happened again Sunday in the spirit of Dan Fogelberg.
For Christmas this year, let us give the gift of life and remind all of the people we know, how important it is to get checked out, for the dreaded monster called cancer.
It got me, and fortunately, I was lucky enough to answer it’s call, and make arrangements to nip it in the bud. There are no guarantees, but I guarantee you, I have really savored the 4 years since it’s discovery and subsequent destruction, yes, even during the chemo stage for 6 months following surgery, where sometimes dying seemed like a good option.
The key is doing something before it is too late. We hear about being pro-active and think "what a nice idea that is," and then go about our daily rituals…but this HAS to become part of that routine.
Make an appointment right now if you are over 40 and never had a colonoscopy, or a prostate check… and while you are there, tell them to give you the full treatment…check it all out! Get the works.
I know, you are busy, when can you fit it in? I hate to be frank, but if you wait, it can be too late, and then it just doesn’t matter. Poof! you are gone! and we can’t have that now, can we?
You had a great year. You survived. congratulations, because that is the best thing you did for your family and friends all year. Now let’s enjoy 2008 and 2009, and so on, in memory of 2 fallen brothers, Ian Copeland and now Dan Fogelberg, and many more. They and all the other cancer non-survivors have all the time in the world for you to join them…trust me.
You can do it!
