Inspection Delays Neil Young Concert
Neil Young’s December 12th concert at 3,300-capacity United Palace Theatre in New York was delayed about 90 minutes by fire inspectors looking at a minor code violation.
New York fire inspectors reportedly kept a sold-out crowd outside the Washington Heights venue in the cold to check the premises, according to the New York Times.
Wife Pegi Young’s opening set was reportedly scrapped in the interest of time.
The concert was the first of Young’s six shows at the 77-year-old former movie house, which is home to the Christ Community United Church and began to host concerts this year, including Annie Lennox and Van Morrison, after a four-year hiatus. The venue could not be reached for further comment.
