Cartoon Not Funny To Promoter
Harold MacKay, president of Power Promotional Events in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is miffed at the province’s Chronicle Herald newspaper, which included a displeasing editorial page cartoon December 15th.
MacKay is promoting a Keith Urban concert next August and is already paying for advertising in the newspaper. He says he is considering boycotting the paper by not buying any more ads for Country Rocks the Hill 2008, the Herald said.
"I was extremely angered especially since we just finished buying advertisements in their paper to announce our show," MacKay said in a statement. "Some media here should study other City’s (sic) like Moncton to see how positive media coverage works to everyone’s benefit."
The cartoon was of a rock radio DJ telling his listeners that "the next caller who can name even one Keith Urban song will win two tickets to a good concert somewhere else."
MacKay could not be reached at press time.
