The band is slated to headline a New Year’s Eve extravaganza at Bill Graham Civic Center in San Francisco.

The seven-plus hour event includes full concert sets from The Mars Volta (both acoustic and electric), The Eternals, a sychronized video DJ performance by the Peanut Butter Wolf, a gallery showcasing the artwork of Jeff Jordan (The Mars Volta’s album artist) and full DJ sets from Nobody and DJ Dennis, along with special guest performances.

The Mars Volta’s tour kicks into high gear January 9 at Higher Ground in South Burlington, Vt., with the first leg wrapping January 27 at the Fox Theatre in Boulder, Colo., two days before the release of Bedlam.

Other stops include Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence, R.I. (January 12), Terminal 5 in New York City (January 14), Newport Music Hall in Columbus, Ohio (January 19) and St. Andrews Hall in Detroit (January 23).Tickets for all dates except the Terminal 5 show, which are already available, go on sale beginning January 13.

The European leg of the trek launches February 17 at Docks Konzerte Disco in Hamburg, Germany, and so far, runs through mid-March.

Other cities in the band’s sights include Oslo, Norway; Copenhagen, Denmark; Berlin; Madrid, Spain; Paris; Brussels, Belgium and London.
