The Black Lips’ musical style has been described as a rough mishmash of blues, rock, doo-wop, country, and punk.

The band’s high-energy live shows have included hi-jinks of all sorts and, on at least one occasion, livestock.

The group garnered quite a bit of attention earlier this year, courtesy of a dozen performances over a three day period at the South By Southwest Music and Media Conference in Austin.
