Riff Makers Reveal

A new Aussie book, “Rock Reader: Underneath The Riffs Vol. 1,” collects on-the-road tales from promoters, managers, fans, scribes, agents and publicists.

These included Mick Jagger arranging for longtime friend and concert promoter Paul Dainty’s hotel room to be filled with pigeons to crap all over his belongings, Michael Gudinski causing a ruckus when he inadvertently presented Madonna with a “male” didgeridoo, and the quest to establish ACDC Lane in Melbourne.

The book was edited by music journalists Jeff Jenkins and Miranda Young.
