Coachella’s East Coast Counterpart

When Goldenvoice and AEG Live announced the Coachella lineup from Mexico City, they also confirmed the name of the new East Coast counterpart.

The All Points West Music & Arts Festival is scheduled for August 8-10 at Liberty State Park in New Jersey, which offers views of the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Manhattan.  The New Jersey Central Railroad terminal is located on the festival site and, when immigrants exited Ellis Island, they would board trains for "all points west" – hence the festival name, according to a statement.

More information on the East Coast festival – including the lineup, obviously – is expected in the upcoming weeks.
Meanwhile, a preliminary lineup has been announced for the Coachella Music & Arts Festival in Southern California.  Artists like Roger Waters (Dark Side of The Moon), Portishead, The Verve and The Raconteurs are a few of the acts fans have to look forward to this year.  Coachella is scheduled for April 25th through 27th in Indio, Calif, at the Empire Polo Field.

The 125-act lineup was announced at a press conference January 21st in Mexico as a homage to the country’s fan, artist and press support.

The roster also includes My Morning Jacket, Rilo Kiley, Jack Johnson, Death Cab for Cutie, Kraftwerk, Justice, M.I.A., Love & Rockets, The Breeders, Sasha & Digweed, Cafe Tacuba and Fatboy Slim.

Tickets for the ninth edition of the AEG Live/Goldenvoice event go on sale January 25th.
