Splendour To Stay Put

The Splendour in The Grass festival in Australia’s picturesque Byron Bay has abandoned its plans to move to its new site in Yelgun.

It had cited "logistics" problems. Instead, the festival will this year stay in its home for the past seven years, Belongil Fields.

Organisers insist the move had no relation to the storm of protests from its new neighbours in Yelgun.

Twenty-five lobby groups teamed up to oppose the festival; 77 businesses presented a petition to Byron Shire mayor Jan Barham to reject the festival’s application.
