Philly Shed Closes

After recently facing serious scheduling and financial problems, Philadelphia’s Robin Hood Dell East amphitheatre is now closed for repairs after years of drainage problems ruined one tier of seating at the venue.

The Dell will be closed for the summer and will likely remain closed for part of the 2009 concert season, according to the Philadelphia mayor’s chief of staff, Clarence Armbrister.

Repairs are estimated at about $2.5 million and include drainage corrections, restoring the damaged seating and improvements to the sound, stage, lighting and video.
