Las Vegas Tell All

Christina Binkley, who covered Las Vegas as a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, recently published a recounting of the high-stakes dramas she saw play out between the Sin City bigwigs in "Winner Takes All: Steve Wynn, Kirk Kerkorian, Gary Loveman, and the Race to Own Las Vegas."

The book covers moves by the power players such as Kerkorian’s takeover of Wynn’s Mirage Resorts and subsequent creation of MGM Mirage as well as Loveman, the chairman of Harrah’s Entertainment, creating the world’s largest casino company in terms of revenue by acquiring Caesars Entertainment.

In addition to writing about Vegas’ history, Binkley also includes tidbits and details such as the $7.3 million Alberto Giacometti sculpture that Wynn used it to prop open a door to his office.
