Green Apple Festival Celebrates Earth Day
The Roots, Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder, Derek Trucks Band, Arrested Development, The Neville Brothers and Ziggy Marley are just a few of the many artists scheduled to take part in an eight-city Earth Day Celebration produced by Earth Day Network and Green Apple Festival organizers.
The all-inclusive, interactive and free public events will occur April 20 in New York City’s Central Park, Chicago’s Lincoln Park Zoo, Denver’s City Park, Dallas’ Fair Park, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park and Los Angeles’ Santa Monica Pier, along with a flagship event on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.
The events will combine environmental addresses by prominent speakers, the presence of a wide variety of environmental organizations and educational displays on the theme of environmental awareness.

In addition to the Earth Day events, more than 125 venues will become Green Apple venues over Earth Day weekend, as festival organizers introduce environmentally friendly practices and products at participating venues as a new way of doing business.
