MLSE Resigns GM Centre

Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment has requested that the city of Oshawa, Ontario, reassign its management duties for the 5,600-capacity General Motors Centre to Global Spectrum.

MLSE decided to move away from managing facilities in which it does not own the sports tenant.

The assignment to Global Spectrum will undergo a "due diligence process," according to a statement, but, if the Oshawa City Council and Global Spectrum approve the conditions, the switchover could take place as early as June 1st.
