Charlotte Bobcats Arena in North Carolina has been renamed Time Warner Cable Arena under a multiyear naming rights deal announced April 8th after months of negotiations, according to a statement. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The agreement also releases the NBA’s Bobcats from its television contract with Time Warner Cable in favor of a deal with regional cable channel Fox Sports Net South, which will make the team’s broadcasts available to a wider audience.
"This is a watershed moment for our organization, and a symbol of our commitment to continually improve every facet of our business," said Bobcats Sports & Entertainment President and CEO Fred Whitfield. "For more than a year we worked closely with Time Warner Cable on ways to enhance our relationship and bring FSN South into the fold as a key media partner."
