The band will warm up for the tour with a couple of in-store appearances in Texas: May 15 at Cactus Music in Houston and May 16 at Waterloo Records in Austin.

The run kicks off May 30 at Meridian in Houston and runs through late June, with stops including Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Okla. (June 1), 1st Avenue in Minneapolis (June 4), the Wakarusa Festival in Lawrence, Kan. (June 7), Club Palladium in Salt Lake City (June 11), Showbox at the Market in Seattle (June 14), The Fillmore in San Francisco (June 17) and House of Blues in San Diego (June 20).

Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.com.

Gravity, due May 13, is the band’s seventh studio album and the follow-up to 2004’s Drag It Up.

Since then, Old 97’s have kept busy releasing a double live album, Alive and Wired, as well as being featured prominently in “The Breakup,” after being written into the script by longtime fan and supporter Vince Vaughn.
