Austin Acoustic Series Sued

SRO Artists has filed a lawsuit against the Austin Acoustic Series because of lack of payment for a December 1, 2007, show by client The Roches.

The series’ principal organizer, Sally Cooper, still owes $7,200 of a $7,500 guarantee, according to the suit filed in small claims court in Travis County, Texas.

SRO’s Jeff Laramie told Pollstar that Cooper has also written bad checks to artists Tingstad & Rumbel and David Lanz.

Cooper did not respond to inquiries by Pollstar at press time but released the following statement to the Austin media in January: "I make no excuse for my lack of funds. I am completely aware of my responsibility and am paying The Roches as I can."
