Starbucks Music Label On Back Burner
The Seattle-based coffee chain says Concord Music Group, which formed the label in partnership with Starbucks, will assume responsibility for future and current Hear Music recording artists.
The label has released albums from singers such as Paul McCartney and Hilary McRae.
Starbucks says Ken Lombard, senior vice president and president of Starbucks Entertainment, left the company as part of the change. Chris Bruzzo, chief technology officer, has been promoted to senior vice president and will lead the entertainment business.
Starbucks will continue to work with Concord Music Group. It will also continue to work with the William Morris Agency to identify book projects and other entertainment opportunities.
