Bon Jovi Bomb Scare
A bomb threat minutes before doors opened at a Bon Jovi show at BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, Fla., forced thousands of patrons to wait it out for nearly three hours April 26th before being allowed in.
Police are still trying to identify the person who called the Sunrise, Fla., arena and threatened to blow it up with two bombs at precisely 7:57 p.m., local TV news station CBS4 reported.
Authorities said the call was made from a cell phone at around 6 p.m., according to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
The show was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. with Daughtry as the opening act.
Authorities and 15 bomb-sniffing dogs searched the 20,000-capacity facility.
After no threats were found, fans were slowly allowed to enter the venue around 8:50 p.m. to see Daughtry and Bon Jovi do their thing.
