Ticketmaster Crowns A Queen

Ticketing queen Shelley Lazar is now a top exec of Ticketmaster, which announced it acquired Lazar’s SLO Limited ticketing company May 1st.

SLO is a leading provider of VIP ticketing services to major touring artists and special events. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Over the years, Lazar has built a niche for herself, and her San Francisco-based company, founded in 2002, is synonymous with providing VIP ticketing. The Bill Graham protégé was dubbed "the mastermind behind rock royalty’s all-access passes" by Variety and she’s also had a storied career, including getting wished a happy birthday by Paul McCartney during a performance.

"I am thrilled that, by joining forces with Ticketmaster, we will be able to offer VIP ticketing services and special access opportunities to greater numbers of passionate music fans," Lazar said in a statement. "We are going to utilize our deep ties and long history in the country industry to deliver concert-going experiences that surpass all fan expectations."

TM’s David Goldberg added that SLO will allow Ticketmaster to provide fans more opportunites to their favorite artists and "more access to the premium seats that historically have not always been made available to the general public."
