The injury, which required immediate surgery, happened just before the band was to play Central Michigan University as part of the Crocs Tour that is visiting colleges.

The singer is resting comfortably after the surgery and is expected to be back on his feet in time for the band’s trip to London in the middle of the month.

“I want to apologize to all of our fans holding tickets to the canceled shows,” Tedder said. “We hope to reschedule shows in these areas as soon as possible.

“Thanks to everyone for the get well soon messages too! I’m looking forward to being back on stage as soon as possible.”

Affected dates include May 3 at SUNY University at Albany in New York, Bamboozle Festival at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, N.J., and May 6 at Kool Haus in Toronto.

The only show rescheduled so far is Kool House, which will has been moved to June 8. Tickets purchased for the original show will be honored at the door. Refunds are available at point of purchase until May 31.
