JBL Settles Station Suit

Another court settlement has been made involving the Station nightclub fire in West Warwick, R.I.

Audio electronics company JBL reportedly agreed to pay fire victims $815,000 for allegedly using flammable foam on its speakers in the club.

JBL admitted no wrongdoing and argued that its speaker foam would not have accelerated the fire, according to Pro Sound News.

One hundred people died and more than 200 were injured when the tour manager for Great White launched pyro inside the small club in February 2003.

The settlement needs to be approved by the judge and plaintiff.
