It’s described as “primitive as it is futuristic” and having “one foot in the sci-fi darkness of their last record The Curious City [and] one foot in their past garage angst-ridden wreckage.”

The album was recorded in the trio’s hometown at the Brass Factory and mixed and recorded by band member Jason Kirker, who as the group’s “principal noisemaker,” handles keyboards, Moog synthesizers and a bevy of other instruments.

The trio kicks off the tour (May 15) at The Pizza Shop in New York and wraps up in Chicago at Beat Kitchen (July 11).

Other stops include Velvet Lounge (June 18) in Washington D.C., The Talking Head Club (June 19) in Baltimore, Pilot Light (June 23) in Knoxville, Tenn., The Blue Bird (June 25) in St. Louis, Emo’s (June 28) in Austin, Texas, The Casbah (July 1) in San Diego, Echo (July 2) in Los Angeles, Comet Tavern (July 6) in Seattle, The Badlander (July 7) in Missoula, Mont. and The Borg Ward (July 10) in Milwaukee.
