It’s not often you’ll find a band named after a Hollywood sound effect. In the movie and TV biz a Wilhelm Scream is known as a scream first used in a 1951 film. However, sound editors loved the scream, and have injected it into soundtracks for the past 50 years. So it’s only fitting a punk band would pick up the moniker. New dates for A Wilhelm Scream include July 9 in Buffalo, NY; July 12 in Chicago, July 13 in Minneapolis and July 30 in Toronto. Other new dates include stops in Spokane, Winnipeg, London (Ontario), and Howell (Michigan).

Blue Man Group-Rock Tour plays a multi-night engagement in Seoul, South Korea, next month. Other new dates for the blue guys include a European run in the fall stopping in cities like Vienna (October 16 & 17), Copenhagen (October 22), Hannover (October 25) and Frankfurt (October 30).

Arlo Guthrie must like to look ahead. The folk star is already filling up his 2009 calendar. New dates for next year include stops in Fort Lauderdale, FL (March 1), University, MS (March 9), Boulder, CO (April 12) and Parry Sound, ON (May 9).

Finally, Jason Ricci & New Blood updates today with a few more June and July dates. New on the books is Tulsa, OK (June 22), Evergreen, CO (June 25), Boulder, CO (June 26), Yankton, SD (July 3), Toledo, OH (July 11), Wichita, KS (July 20).

During the past couple of hours we also updated the schedules for Kenny Garrett, Kathy Griffin, Idiot Pilot, Herman Dune, George Lopez, Eric Sardinas, Matt Wertz, Nnenna Freelon, Pharoah Sanders, Puddle Of Mudd, Ray Price, Randy Travis, The Hackensaw Boys and more. In fact, we’ve received so much concert data today, that for a moment we felt we were going to run down the corridors screaming like Wilhelm.

Of course, there’s more information yet to post. Don’t miss your last update of the day – The Closing Bell – coming up around 5 pm (PDT), from Pollstar.com!
