Milsap’s tour is part of Great American Country’s “Master Series.” GAC’s sponsorship includes on-air mentions, promotions and Web-based streaming interviews. Milsap contributes by touring June through December in quick doses. For instance, he hits Gulfport, Miss.; Harvey, La.; and Albuquerque September 12-14, then does three dates in October in Kentucky, North Carolina and Arizona.

These days, it’s hard to tell where rock music begins and country music ends, what with bands like Rascal Flatts covering “Another One Bites The Dust” and “Jessie’s Girl.” But Milsap, who’s still an active songwriter and recording artist, has built his career from pure country music, beginning with the 1974 hit “Pure Love” and anthems like “Any Day Now.”

Milsap has won six Grammy awards, four ACM awards, eight CMAs and has sold more than 30 million albums.
