Agency Group Acquires Kork

The Agency Group has bought the Kork Agency and will be bringing most of its staff and entire roster into the Los Angeles office July 1st.

Kork, headed by Christian Bernhardt, is based out of Emeryville, Calif. – approximately 300 miles away from TAG’s Century City office. Although it is uncertain if the entire staff is moving, most are expected to, TAG spokeswoman Christina Miller told Pollstar.

Kork’s staff includes Ryan Craven, Andrew Skikne, Avery McTaggart and Molly Fitzgerald. Founded in 2000, the agency has built acts like … And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Peaches and Atmosphere. Bernhardt came to the U.S. from Germany after finishing law school and had stints at Spin magazine and Amphetamine Reptile Records before forming Kork.

"This is a strategic addition to our Los Angeles office and not only brings a team of very gifted agents into our U.S. operations, it will further strengthen our international reach," Agency Group CEO Neil Warnock said in a statement.

Bernhardt said his company had been courting major agencies for two years before coming to an agreement with TAG.

Kork’s roster also includes Aesop Rock, The Gossip, Beirut, Coco Rosie, Yelle, Jens Lekman, Suicide and Butthole Surfers.

Details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
