“The intention is present the music like it’s never been presented before,” promoter and creative director Rick Bowen said. “I wanted to do it even better than done originally. We have the world’s greates players, who studied every move the classic bands made.”

With musicians who’ve played for Phil Collins, Meat Loaf, Chicago and others, the outfit plans to re-create moments from The Doors, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple and Rod Stewart. When it comes to the Three Dog Night tunes, the show will rely upon one of the band’s former singers, Chuck Negron.

The second half of the show will be devoted to a collage of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd songs, including “Whole Lotta Love” and “Money.” The Experience calls it a “loving vision of what might have been.”

The entourage starts off at the civic Center in Mobile, Ala., August 27 and is on the road through November, visiting arenas in major cities like Orlando, Cincinnati, Memphis, Houston, New Orleans and Washington D.C., with many smaller markets mixed in.
