Blood Red Shoes For Red Light Fest

Blood Red Shoes is one of the first acts announced for Reeperbahn Festival, which Hamburg-based promoters Karsten Jahnke Konzertdirektion and Inferno Events have been building up during the last three years.

The U.K. grunge duo is currently topping the European Talent Exchange Programme league, having so far picked up 11 festivals from its showcase performance at Holland’s Eurosonic-Noorderslag weekend in January.

Also on the bill for Reeperbahn, which is staged in about a dozen clubs near the city’s world-famous red light district, is I’m From Barcelona.

The 29-piece ensemble from Sweden is also doing well out of ETEP 2008, having picked up six shows from its Groningen gig.

Reeperbahn’s motto "New International Music" is also being backed up with the booking of Get Well Soon, which comes from Germany.

Also on the list are Portugal, The Man (from Alaska), Beta Satan and Nephew (Denmark), Cut Off Your Hands (New Zealand), The Jessica Fletchers (Norway), and The Black Box Revelation (Belgium).

So far less than one-fifth of the 150 or so acts have been named. Reeperbahn Festival is September 25-27.
