Notodden’s Mega Headliners

Having a multimillion-selling artist pull out of his headline slot with only weeks to go would throw a lot of festivals into a blind panic, but not the organisers of Norway’s Notodden Blues Festival.

When former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman and his Rhythm Kings had to pull out of the 10,000-capacity event near the Swedish border, the festival just booked another multimillion-selling artist to plug the gap.

The replacement is Mick Fleetwood, who sold more than 70 million albums with Fleetwood Mac and wants to play the event as the European Premier of his Mick Fleetwood Blues Band.

The band will also feature Rick Vito, Lenny Castellanos and Mark Johnstone playing blues classics and covering Fleetwood Mac hits such as "Black Magic Woman," "Oh Well" and "Rattlesnake Shake."

Other acts on the July 31 to August 3 bill include Ray Davies, John Hiatt & The Ageless Beauties, Little Feat, Charlie Musselwhite & Kim Wilson with the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Bobby Rush and Pinetop Perkins.
