Taco Bell A No Go For Fiddy
Taco Bell Corp. President Greg Creed made the proposal in a letter to 50 Cent’s agent and requested Fiddy make an appearance at a U.S. Taco Bell location and rap his order in the drive-thru with his new name, according to a company statement. If 50 Cent agreed to the deal, Creed said Taco Bell would make a $10,000 donation to a charity of Fiddy’s choice.
“We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change,” the letter read, according to E! Online. “We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change. We encourage you to ‘Think Outside the Bun’ and hope you accept our offer.”
Fiddy apparently wasn’t in the mood for fast food.
“When my legal team is finished with them, Taco Bell is going to have a new corporate slogan: We messed with the bull and got the horns,” 50 Cent said, according to AllHipHop.com.
The Web site noted that a representative for the rapper was also not amused.
“This is a sleazy and ill-conceived publicity stunt by Taco Bell’s president, Greg Creed, whose disingenuous offer was leaked to the press before it was even presented to 50 Cent’s agent yesterday,” the representative said.
