Rudd’s trek launches August 29 at Snowmass Town Park in Aspen, Colo. and wraps with an appearance at the Austin City Limits Music Festival September 28.

In between, the surfer and long-time Dave Matthews Band tour mate will hit cities scattered across the U.S. and Canada, including Seattle, San Francisco, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Atlanta, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis and Denver.

Blue, due August 19, is being described by the singer as “loud and psychedelic” highlighting “a darker side of Xavier Rudd merely hinted at on earlier releases.” Mixing chores on the album were handled by Joe Barresi, who has manned the boards for bands like Tool and Queens of the Stone Age.
