Richie Havens' Crown -ing Achievement

Legendary folk singer and guitarist Richie Havens is preparing to hit the road to celebrate the release of his 30th album, Nobody Left to Crown.

Havens gets rolling tonight at GuilFest at Stoke Park in Guilford, U.K. and has dates on the books well into 2009.

Gigs on the singer’s schedule include a number of festivals in the U.S. and abroad, including Blues Fest International in Windsor and London, Ontario (July 11-12), the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island (August 2), the Nashua River Falley Folk Festival at Pierce Homestead in Lancaster, Mass. (August 10), and Rhythm Festival at Twinwood Arena in Clapham, U.K. (August 29-31).

Non-festival stops include Cleveland; Chicago; New York City; Sellersville, Pa.; Birmingham, Ala.; Austin; San Diego; Anchorage, Alaska; Jasper, Ind.; and Manasquan, N.J.

Crown is due in the U.S. July 29 on Verve Records.
