A Plum Site In The Distillery
Masters Of Rock sold out for the second year running but there are no thoughts of making the festival any bigger because the organizers are happy to stay in the Slivovitz distillery at Vizovice, Czech Republic.
"We could maybe make room for another three or four thousand and bring the capacity up to nearer 25,000," said Jiri Daron of Pragokoncerts Bohemia, which started the festival in 2004.
"We have a good relationship with the local council and the site owners," he explained, pointing out that production of the famous plum brandy stops when the festival is in progress.
The 5-year-old event has quickly established itself on the hard rock festival circuit and grew steadily each year before the two sellouts.
This year’s July 10-13 lineup included Def Leppard, Apocalyptica, Within Temptation, Gamma Ray, Annihilator, Sonata Arctica, Ministry, Moonspell, Sabaton, and My Dying Bride.
