Sugarland Rained Out

Sugarland’s July 16 show was postponed until August after a storm hit the Chesaning Showboat Music Festival in Michigan, bringing an hour and a half of lightning to the stadium.

The show was put on hold after singer/songwriter Jeremy Lister’s opening set when festival organizers consulted WNEM-TV’s chief meteorologist, according to the Saginaw News.

"In the end, it was the rain, the idea of wet equipment and a wet stage, that canceled the show," promoter Brad Coombs of Meridian Entertainment Group told the paper. "Sugarland wouldn’t be able to give its fans the show they have come to expect."

Coombs said fans’ July 16 Sugarland tickets will be accepted at the August show. Coombs was unavailable for comment at press time but his office told Pollstar the August date was yet to be confirmed.

The festival took place July 12-19 and included performances by Finger Eleven, Seether, Sick Puppies, Steven Curtis Chapman, Three Dog Night and "Weird Al" Yankovic.
