Gladys Nederlander Dies

Theatre and television producer Gladys Nederlander, 83, died of heart failure July 21 in New York City, according to her husband, Robert Nederlander.

She started her career in radio and went on to produce nine Broadway shows between 1976 and 1983, most notably the Tony Award-winning, 1980 revival of "West Side Story" starring Debbie Allen.

In 1982 Nederlander was named executive producer for Nederlander Television and Film Productions, which turned out TV movies including "A Case of Libel" with Ed Asner and Daniel J. Travanti, and "Intimate Strangers" with Stacey Keach.
