Laser Injuries May Be Permanent

At least 30 of the techno music-lovers who suffered laser damage to their eyes during a rave in Vladimirskaya are likely to have permanent damage.

At press time it wasn’t possible to contact Cosmic Connection, which promoted the July 6 Aquamarin Festival.

Moscow newspapers say the victims were taken to local hospitals, and about 30 of them will likely lose 80 percent of their sight.

They also report the promoters are saying the firm that supplied and operated the special lighting effects has all the relevant safety certificates and it’s still not certain exactly what went wrong.
