Casino Accident Injures Seven

The collapse of an enclosed walkway being attached to the floating Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Ind., sent seven construction workers tumbling into the marina but their injuries weren’t serious.

The workers were treated at the scene and one was taken to a nearby hospital for a shoulder injury.

The barge reportedly shifted beneath the structure, which caused the walkway to fall.

The accident isn’t expected to delay the August 9 grand opening of the casino’s 2,500-seat entertainment facility, The Venue, which will be booked and co-promoted by AEG Live.
