MSG To Book Wang Theatre

MSG Entertainment announced August 7 it has signed a co-booking arrangement with the Citi Performing Arts Center in Boston, providing entertainment for the complex’s 3,561-capacity Wang Theatre starting next season.

MSGE and Citi Center have collaborated for years on performances at the Wang, according to a statement, and worked together on the Radio City Christmas Spectacular production in 2004 and 2006.

"The Wang Theatre is one of the world’s most venerable performing arts theatres," MSGE President Jay Marciano said in a statement. "It is our goal, in partnership with Citi Center, to create the most dynamic and diverse programming for the Wang. We feel that together we can offer even more quality family entertainment and unique productions for the city of Boston."

MSGE has agreed to a $2 million sponsorship contribution to Citi Center to be used to support projects and initiatives that have direct community impact and benefit, the statement said.

MSGE has made several moves recently, including purchasing the Chicago Theatre, announcing groundwork for its first outdoor festival, increasing staff with the likes of Don Simpson and Liana Farnham and, through parent company MSG, acquiring a minority stake in Front Line Management.
