The band kicks off its In Your Face Tour September 26 at Century II Performing Arts & Convention Center in Witchita, Kan., and will make its way across the country through the end of October.

Highlights include stops at Fox Theatre in St. Louis (September 30), Ryman Auditorium in Nashville (October 3), Murat Theatre in Indianapolis (October 11), The Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis (October 17), Arlene Schnitzer Hall in Portland, Ore. (October 22), and Paramount Theatre in Denver (October 31).

Presale tickets for some shows go on sale August 12 to ZZ Top fan club members.

The band, which just returned from the European festival circuit, was inspired to return to a more intimate setting after playing a theatre gig recently.

“Earlier this year, because of a routing quirk, we accepted a fill-in date at a little old theater in Knoxville,” guitarist Billy F. Gibbons explained. “That experience reminded us of our roots, both in terms of a stripped-down, gut-bucket musical approach and the direct connection with the people who came to see us.

“So we said, ‘Why not do this on a more extended basis and have some real fun?'”
