That’s right! It’s time for this year’s Bandwidth Music | Technology Conference, taking place August 14 – 15 in San Francisco.

Billed as “Music! Technology! Cocktails!” – The Bandwidth Conference combines the brightest and the best from the worlds of technology and music. This year’s conference explores topics like marketing, fan behavior and trends, plus forecasts into what the future might hold for those who make, distribute, sell and enjoy music.

Some of the people at this year’s Bandwidth Conference include Susan Bonds and Alex Leiu of 42 Entertainment, the company behind the unique marketing of Nine Inch Nail’s Year Zero album; Sub Pop co-founder Jonathan Poneman; Chop Shop Music’s Alexandra Patsavas and Gracenote CEO Craig Palmer. Other companies represented include The Orchard, MOG, iMeem, Rhapsody America, Sony BMG, TuneCore, Fanscape, and, yes, that concert trade pub known as Pollstar.

And they’ll have a lot to talk about, with discussion topics ranging from artist branding, future electronic devices and ways for artists to bypass labels and become true DIY entrepreneurs.

As an added attraction, the folks behind the Bandwidth Conference will announce a joint collaboration to be launched at next year’s Noise Pop Festival, the six-night celebration of music scheduled for late February / early March, featuring underground, above ground and all bands in between, as well as films, art shows and even an indie-designer trunk sale.

“We’re very excited to be working with Noise Pop,” said Bandwidth co-producer Ashli Lewis. “For one week each year, San Francisco becomes a major destination for music fans from all over to enjoy shows every night. With the addition of the conference and expo, this annual music event will be an all encompassing music festival and conference.”
