Man Pleads Guilty In Folklife Shooting

A Snohomish man has pleaded guilty to two counts of third-degree assault in a shooting at Seattle’s Folklife Festival that resulted in injuries to three people.

Twenty-two-year-old Clinton Chad Grainger faces faces a standard sentencing range of three to eight months in jail. The conviction prohibits Grainger from legally possessing firearms in the future.

Grainger’s gun discharged as he was fighting with another man at the festival May 24. Two people were hit by the bullet and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, and the man Grainger was fighting with suffered burn wounds to his face from being so close to the gun when it discharged.
